The stand-up comedian, Paula Poundstone, is gifted with a lot of witty talent. She does not need anything other than a microphone and a soft dink to amuse people and to turn their smiles in to laughter.
Paula Poundstone will make a hilarious one-man show at the Zaiterion Performing Arts Center at 8 p.m. She has an extraordinary talent to use her wits with insightful observations to make people laugh.
The people who come to her show go back with caressing their cheeks which remained extended during the show constantly. She gets involved in different characters that she develops an environment as if there are a variety of people around her during her performance. She stimulates the imagination of the audience and engages them all alone to sink them in the sea of uncontrollable laughter.
Poundstone’s spontaneous and impromptu style impressed many of the producers and she was selected as a panelist on NPR’s comic weekly news quiz show. She was the winner of Peabody Award for Broadcasting. Her comic views can be listened on NPR’s morning edition. She also wrote a book “There’s Nothing In This Book That I Meant To Say”.
Her comedy CD is also available titled as: I HEART JOKES: Paula Tells Them In Maine. It is an uproarious comedy recorded at Stone Mountain Arts Center. The show is exceptional and can not be done again. She has done great shows on HBO as well e.g. BRAVO. She is also the winner of ACE for best standup comedy and she has the honor of being invited at the presidential dinner at white house.
